Veronica Gonzalez

(incumbent & current chair)

Why are you running?

As a current member of the Wrentham School Committee, I am running for re-election because I believe we have made great progress in fostering a positive, successful, and inclusive learning environment in a challenging post-pandemic world, but our work is not yet done. I want to continue collaborating with fellow school committee members to fine-tune our educational goals and policies to ensure they align with today’s school vision, mission, and core values and that our Wrentham students receive the best possible education.

Bio

A graduate of King Philip High School, I attended Assumption College and graduated with degrees in elementary education and social/rehabilitation services. I was actively involved as class president and a member of the tennis team. After graduating, I earned a M.Ed. in reading from Bridgewater State and then began my teaching career, gaining valuable experience at KP Middle School and Medfield and Sharon elementary schools.

After marrying my husband, an Air Force officer, we relocated to Arizona where I taught GED courses. In 2013, after he completed twenty years of active duty service, we settled in Wrentham with our three children who currently attend the Wrentham Public Schools. Over the years, I have volunteered for numerous boards, programs, and clubs that support fun, educational, and confidence-building activities for our children. For the last two years, I have had the privilege of serving as Chair of the Wrentham School Committee.
