Dyan Rook

Why are you running?

Due to the retirement of our long time director, we will be searching for a replacement and I will look forward to new ideas and possibilities. In order to keep the library relevant, I will be an advocate for adequate funding for services, personnel and increased hours. The library should be a community center for a wide range of multi-generational opportunities, both educational and recreational.

Bio

My husband and I moved to Wrentham 43 years ago. When I retired after 34 years of teaching art in public schools, I ran for the position of library trustee and have enjoyed serving on the board since. Libraries have always been an enjoyable part of my life. I worked in libraries throughout high school and college and later as a research assistant in the library of the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. Over the years, libraries have become not just a repository for books. At the Fiske we offer a multitude of services. You can renew your passport, borrow a metal detector from the Library of Things, take a yoga class, enjoy children and adult programs and much more. If you haven’t been to the library in a while, come check out a book and see what the Fiske has to offer: https://fiskelib.org/.
